Joel Embiid scores season-high 50 points, 76ers beat Wizards, 131-126 But he needs to work on his movement skills with the ball and his quick twitch and elusiveness with the ball or he could be hindered significantly. You have reached a degraded version of because you're using an unsupported version of Internet Explorer.įor a complete experience, please upgrade or use a supported browser His speed and bounce and strength and reflexes and physique are at NBA levels. Hes got good vision, can pass with both hands and has a strong frame and bounce to finish at the rim in the NBA. If he were even an average shot creator, he would be a good 1st round pick. This is something with him being too stiff in his hips or shoulders or something. ![]() Maybe he can improve, but dating back to his freshman year in high school, that's been an issue, and it's sort of a talent issue because I don't think he hasn't had great balllhandling classes, and he is extremely bouncy and well-conditioned. He doesn't have the confidence or the ability to with defenders in his face like that. ![]() It could have been approach, but you'll notice he basically made no aggressive moves toward the hoop today. It's really pretty abnormal for a 6'2" guard with a 40-inch vertical and his open speed to have this limitation, but he basically can't beat any defender from a standstill, and he can't get where he wants to with the ball. The major flaw is that either because of a lack burst/wiggle or just a lack of handle, or some combo of both, he has nearly zero ability to create his own shot. For the comparison, the issue is that Bronny has one or two critical flaws. He's seems like a 5'7" guy who happens to be 6'1.5" without shoes. He's put on like 10-15 pounds of muscle, looks jacked (even though idk why something about his frame seems small. If you've watched Bronny, this is what he always does. Had that chase down block where his head was at the backboard, ran the floor, got an extremely clutch steal, pushed it in transition with speed, hit a nice catch and shoot three, had a couple of nice assists in different circumstances, had some deflections, pressured the ball handler very well, had great feet and anticipation. He was incredibly poised, barely made any mistakes. This was his first game after a life-changing type of medical scare, and not only would I not have thought that, other than his deference, I wouldn't have even thought this was a freshman playing his first game. Nothing eye popping, but what was encouraging was, as has been the case since he was 14, he's able to step into big moments and be himself no matter what. I've watched Bronny pretty much his whole career, and I was impressed with the way he played today, but wasn't surprised. I see some Jalen Suggs and Marcus Smart in his game. He's a very good athlete, with good defensive anticipation. XTC wrote:All joking aside, I think he's a very good prospect.
